History & Philosophy

The Weiss Scholarship Foundation started with a trip to Africa coupled with Brett Weiss’ personal passion for education; it has grown into an emerging commitment to provide education for the young people of Dago, embraced by hundreds of us inspired by Brett’s work. Change in the world, whether in our own back yards or the far reaches of another continent, will only come through the work of this generation growing into adulthood, and only if we give them education and hope. I am proud and humbled to participate in this endeavor.

I have donated because I had the privilege of visiting Dago, Kenya and witnessed the sustainable impact that a high school education provides both the students and community at large. Weiss Scholarship Foundation demonstrates great care and responsibility in each decision due to organizations passionate conviction that education is a human right.

I have personally seen Mr. Brett Weiss in his element of combining love and education. He understands what having an education can do for generations. I have met many of the students of Dago and know their passionate pursuits to excel. If you want to ensure that you’re making an IMPACT in the lives of young people and the generations that they will touch, rest easy in making an investment to this scholarship fund.

The Weiss Scholarship Foundation is in memory of my parents, Bernard and Elsie Weiss.  They were depression babies who were not able to get the education they wanted but worked hard to make sure their three boys had a great education.  They would be very proud of the Weiss Scholarship Foundation giving HOPE and a great education to poor Kenyan children

It is hard to be more concise than Nelson Mandela’s quote but…  Education is truly the key to better understanding of all things in our world.  If we can understand each other, we are able to show compassion for, cooperation with, and consideration of others.  I have known Brett Weiss only about 10 years, but I know he is a man who has dedicated his life to education and coaching of others.  He truly has a passion for this cause, and these are some of the reasons I joyfully support The Weiss Scholarship Foundation.

There are so many challenges that exist for the people of Kenya, especially today. Educating their most important resource, the children, will benefit Africa and all of mankind. That is why I will always support and donate to the Weiss Scholarship Foundation.

We were inspired by Brett’s mission of giving the children of Dago an opportunity to truly change the arc of their and their families’ lives.  Brett’s commitment and passion for this work was infectious!

This is a cause my late brother believed in, and I was proud to honor him by donating.

Donating to this wonderful organization has always been a priority for my husband and me.  The best thing we can do for the world today is to help educate all children – no matter what race, color, or ethnicity; all children should have an education available to them.  This scholarship program provides the opportunity to help so many needy children in so many ways. We will continue to donate and watch the great results that come out of it.
